Sometimes life becomes difficult, or simply starts to feel unfulfilling, without us knowing why.
A relationship falls apart.
A career shifts.
Something inside us begins asking for change.
Stress may begin speaking through the body — as exhaustion, anger, anxiety, numbness, mistrust, trouble finding our voice, or the feeling that we’re always bracing for something to go wrong.
We may understand our patterns clearly and still feel unable to change them.
We often pursue what we’re told will make us happy: a relationship, a career, healthy habits, a fresh start. And sometimes we get there, only to realize it didn’t bring the satisfaction we hoped for; something still feels hollow.
Or we know exactly what needs to change, but can’t seem to act, the energy isn’t there.
Something holds us back, a force we can feel, but can’t quite name. That’s not a failure of willpower. It’s the body holding a different truth than the one the mind wants.
The mind may choose a direction, but the body decides whether we feel safe and ready enough to begin.
The body isn’t working against you — it’s trying to tell you something.
Learning to work with it means learning its language: sensation, energy, impulse, and stillness. As we begin to hear the body more clearly and make room for what it needs, new possibilities open up and our day-to-day experience becomes richer. We become more resourceful and more able to move toward the life we want.
This way of working is not abstract for me. My approach to somatic coaching comes from professional training, years of practice, and my own deep personal reclamation. In my memoir, The Straight Man Who Thought He Was Gay, I trace what somatic healing can look like from the inside — not as a concept, but as a lived return to the body, to choice, and to life.
This is an excerpt from my memoir, how somatic skills helped me process childhood trauma.
I bring that same somatic lens, deep tracking, and dedication into my coaching. Together, we can begin building the pathways that help you respond to what your body has been carrying — and move toward a life that feels more fully your own.
A Client-Centered Partnership
I believe the deepest answers are already inside you. My role is to create a space of safety, respect, and curiosity where your own wisdom can surface. I explain each step along the way so you know why we’re doing it and how it supports your goals, and I actively welcome your questions, feedback, and honest no’s.
Your choices set the pace and direction as we follow your body’s signals together. I hold no preset agenda for who you should become. The aim is for you to inhabit your own unique self with greater ease and confidence.
Coaching, Not Psychotherapy
I don’t diagnose or treat mental illness. If you already work with a therapist, or decide you need one for deeper support, I’m glad to collaborate.
